Frappe Builder is an open-source visual website builder from the team behind ERPNext and the Frappe Framework. It pairs a Figma-like canvas — layers panel, properties panel, reusable components and side-by-side desktop, tablet and mobile views — with one-click publishing, so a page can be designed and shipped without a handoff to a developer.
Because it runs on Frappe Framework, Builder includes a CMS out of the box. Block props and styles can be bound to data scripts that fetch records from your own database, which makes blogs, product listings, portfolios and other data-driven pages possible without a separate headless backend. Pages are emitted as lightweight HTML and CSS with no client-side JavaScript unless you add it, and the product ships built-in page analytics for views, unique visitors and referrers.
Builder also includes an AI site builder agent that reads your existing pages, reuses your components and theme tokens, fits new pages into your route structure and wires forms to real doctypes; edits respect permissions, sensitive changes wait for approval, and every AI edit is revertable. Against Webflow, Framer, Wix and Squarespace, the main difference is ownership: Builder is MIT-licensed, self-hostable on your own server or on Frappe Cloud, and does not meter pages or seats through the website builder itself. A beta Figma plugin imports designs directly into the canvas.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which platforms does Frappe Builder run on?
Frappe Builder is a web application that runs in the browser inside a Frappe site, so there are no native desktop or mobile apps to install. A Figma plugin, currently in beta, imports designs from Figma onto the Builder canvas.
What do I need to self-host Frappe Builder?
You need a Frappe Framework bench with MariaDB or PostgreSQL plus Redis, or Docker and Docker Compose. The repository includes a docker-compose setup for local development and the project documents an easy-install script that deploys a production site for a domain, while Frappe Cloud is the managed option.
Can I import an existing site or design into Frappe Builder?
There is no WordPress, Wix or Webflow importer. The supported path is the beta Figma to Builder plugin for design files, plus the option to duplicate pages between Builder sites. Data that already lives in Frappe doctypes can be rendered on pages through data scripts.
Does Frappe Builder have an API or CLI?
Because it runs on Frappe Framework, Builder's content is reachable through the framework's REST API using token or session authentication. The maintainers also publish a frappe-builder agent skill that uses frappectl to build, edit and publish pages from a terminal or coding agent.
Can I restrict access to pages built with Frappe Builder?
Yes. Builder has built-in protected pages, so a page can require a login before it renders. Accounts, roles and permissions come from Frappe Framework, which also handles social login providers and LDAP when configured.
