Gramps
Open source desktop genealogy program for building and exploring detailed family trees with full local data control.
Open source alternative to:
Gramps is a free, open-source genealogy program for Linux, macOS, and Windows that lets you build and explore your family tree with a rich, well-structured data model. It tracks people, families, events, places, sources, repositories, and media — supporting far more detail than most commercial alternatives.
Unlike subscription-based web services, Gramps stores your data locally in an open format that you fully control. It supports the GEDCOM standard for importing and exporting data, integrates with online sources like FamilySearch, and ships with powerful reporting, charting, filtering, and relationship-analysis tools. A companion project, Gramps Web, provides an optional self-hostable web frontend for sharing your tree online.
Gramps is licensed under GPL-2.0 and is a popular open alternative to commercial desktop genealogy software such as Family Tree Maker and Legacy Family Tree.
