Hugy is an Electron-based desktop application that provides a user-friendly graphical interface for the Hugo static site generator. It bridges the gap between Hugos technical command-line interface and content editors who need a simple, visual way to manage content.
Designed specifically for copywriters and content teams, Hugy allows users to navigate content folders, add and edit content with a WYSIWYG editor, and manage project configuration without writing a single command. The live preview feature shows website changes in real-time as content is edited.
Hugy assumes a Git-centered workflow and enables content editors to push changes directly to a Git repository. It supports managing multiple local versions of a website with rollback capabilities, making it a suitable replacement for discontinued Git-based CMS tools like Forestry.
