Logseq

Logseq is a privacy-first, open source platform for knowledge management, note-taking, and outliner-style thinking. It is a popular alternative to Roam Research and Obsidian that combines bidirectional links, a block-based editor, and a powerful query language over plain Markdown or Org-mode files.

Logseq stores notes locally as plain text files, supports daily journaling, page-level embeds, queries, flash cards, and PDF highlights, and offers both local-first and optional self-hosted sync. The platform also supports whiteboards, tasks, and a growing library of community plugins.

Released under AGPL-3.0 and built with ClojureScript, Logseq is an excellent fit for researchers, students, and engineers who want a Roam-like graph experience with their data stored on disk rather than behind a vendor.
