OpenShots is a free, open-source screenshot beautification tool that helps you turn raw screenshots into polished, shareable visuals in seconds. Completely offline and cross-platform, it runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux.
Built with Tauri (Rust + React), OpenShots offers a lightweight yet powerful solution for capturing, editing, and exporting screenshots. Features include full screen, region, or window capture with global hotkeys, beautiful gradient and solid color backgrounds, rounded corners, drop shadows, and auto-matched inset borders. The annotation tools include arrows, shapes, text labels, emoji, speech bubbles, spotlight overlays, and numbered callouts. Privacy features let you blur or pixelate sensitive areas.
OpenShots also includes a full CLI for batch processing, preset management, and automation. Export to PNG, JPEG, or WebP with quality control and scaling options. All processing happens locally on your machine — no data ever leaves your device.
