Puck is the open-source visual editor for React. It lets developers compose their own page-building experience by mapping React components into a drag-and-drop editor that content teams can use directly. Instead of locking you into a fixed block library, Puck treats every component you register as a first-class building block — you define the props, the editor UI, and the rendering rules, and Puck handles the rest.

Puck is MIT-licensed, framework-agnostic at its core, and ships with first-class support for Next.js, Remix, and Astro. It supports server-side rendering, controlled and uncontrolled state, custom fields, multi-column layouts, and AI-assisted editing. The data model is fully serializable, so saved pages can be stored anywhere — a database, a CMS, a static file, or a third-party API.

Puck is used by teams that want a Webflow- or Builder.io-style editing experience without giving up control of their codebase. It is actively maintained, with a growing ecosystem of plugins and a permissive license that allows commercial use.
