Scrambled Exif is an Android app that strips all EXIF metadata from photos before sharing them. Integrated directly into the Android share menu, it provides a seamless privacy workflow. Select a photo, share to Scrambled Exif, and it removes GPS coordinates, camera model information, timestamps, and all other hidden metadata before presenting the clean image for sharing through any app.

The app performs all processing locally on-device with no internet access required, ensuring your photos and their metadata never leave your phone. It also supports renaming files as part of the cleanup process.

Scrambled Exif replaces paid Android metadata removal apps like Photo Exif Editor and iOS/macOS tools like Metapho, offering the same privacy protection in a free, open-source package licensed under GPL v3. Available on Google Play, F-Droid, and as a direct APK download from GitLab Releases.
