Warp is a modern, agentic development environment built on a blazing-fast Rust-based terminal emulator. It transforms the command-line experience with AI-powered coding agents, intelligent autocompletion, and collaborative features.

Unlike traditional terminals, Warp separates input and output, allowing you to edit commands like a modern text editor, navigate through command blocks, and share terminal sessions with your team. Its built-in AI agent, powered by GPT models, can understand natural language requests, generate complex commands, debug errors, and explain code — all within the terminal.

Warp's unique block-based architecture groups commands and their outputs into visual blocks, making it easy to navigate, copy, and share terminal workflows. Features include Warp Drive for saving and organizing frequently used commands, real-time collaboration through shared sessions, and a growing library of community workflows. Warp went open source in 2025 with its UI framework under MIT and core under AGPL-3.0.
