Chobble Tickets
Open source ticketing system with zero per-attendee fees. Self-hostable on Deno with Stripe, Square, or SumUp, and end-to-end encrypted attendee data.
Chobble Tickets is a minimalist, privacy-first ticketing and reservation system that runs on Deno with libsql (SQLite or Turso). It is built and maintained by Chobble CIC, a UK community interest company whose assets are locked to the community, so the software cannot be sold off or stripped into a proprietary fork.
Unlike most ticketing platforms, Chobble Tickets charges no per-attendee fees. Organizers pay only the standard payment processor rate (Stripe, Square, or SumUp) plus an optional flat booking fee they configure themselves. The project positions itself as a "no per-attendee fee" alternative to Eventbrite, BookItBee, Seetickets, and similar services.
All attendee PII — names, emails, phone numbers, postal addresses, and payment references — is protected with a hybrid RSA-OAEP + AES-256-GCM scheme. A three-layer key hierarchy (env-var root key → RSA key pair → per-user wrapped data keys) means a database dump alone is not enough to recover personal data; an attacker would also need the operator's environment key and a valid owner, manager, agent, or API credential. The project ships with first-class deployment to Bunny Edge Scripting and also runs on Docker, Fly.io, Heroku, Render, Koyeb, or any Deno host.
Beyond basic listing and checkout, Chobble Tickets supports daily-capacity listings, listing groups, multi-listing bookings, Apple Wallet (.pkpass) and Google Wallet passes, QR-based check-in with a built-in scanner, CalDAV and ICS feeds, email notifications, two-way SMS via the SMS Gateway for Android, and a multi-tenant site builder that lets one operator provision and renew many self-contained sites. A managed hosted version is available at tix.chobble.com for £5/month or £50/year if you would rather not run it yourself.
