What is RomM?
RomM is a self-hosted ROM manager that scans, enriches, browses, and plays your retro game collection from a clean web interface. It automatically pulls metadata from IGDB, Screenscraper, and MobyGames, fetches custom artwork from SteamGridDB, and surfaces your Retroachievements — covering 400+ platforms out of the box.

Self-hosting
RomM is distributed as a Docker image and runs on modest hardware — a Raspberry Pi can handle small libraries. Setup is straightforward via the Quick Start Guide in the docs, and the project is AGPL-3.0 licensed.
How it compares to LaunchBox
LaunchBox is the de facto standard for Windows game library management, and its BigBox frontend is a polished, couch-friendly launcher. RomM targets a similar audience but goes a different direction: it is fully self-hosted and platform-agnostic, plays in the browser, and exposes the same library to multiple users and devices — including Linux handhelds and Android. If you want a local, single-machine launcher, LaunchBox is a great fit. If you want your library on the network, with shared access and in-browser play, RomM is the open-source answer.
