Dawarich
Self-hostable alternative to Google Maps Timeline for tracking and visualizing your location history.
Open source alternative to:
Dawarich is a privacy-first, self-hosted application that replaces Google Maps Timeline (formerly Google Location History). It lets you import, store, and visualize your movement data entirely on your own infrastructure — no data ever leaves your server.
You can import location data from Google Takeout exports, OwnTracks, GPSLogger, and other sources. Dawarich renders an interactive map of your journeys, provides statistics about distances traveled, cities visited, and time spent in different places, and even lets you add notes and memories to locations.
Built with Ruby on Rails and designed for easy self-hosting via Docker, Dawarich is ideal for anyone who wants to maintain a personal travel history without depending on Google. It supports real-time tracking via OwnTracks and has a growing feature set driven by an active open-source community.
