Kan
Modern, open source Trello alternative with kanban boards, lists, cards, and collaborative project tracking.
Kan is a fast, open source kanban board application that ships as a clean, modern alternative to Trello. Built on Next.js, tRPC, Drizzle ORM, and Better Auth, it focuses on speed, a polished UI, and a developer-friendly codebase.
Each board in Kan contains lists, cards, drag-and-drop ordering, labels, due dates, members, and activity history. The project is positioned as a no-fuss self-hostable task board for personal productivity, small teams, and software projects where the simplicity of Trello is enough — without the per-user pricing.
Kan is released under AGPL-3.0, deploys as a single Docker image, and uses SQLite by default for trivial setup, with PostgreSQL support for production deployments.
