Templatical

Templatical is a production-ready, open-source drag-and-drop email editor designed for modern web apps. It replaces your proprietary email builder with a lightweight, framework-agnostic SDK that drops into React, Vue, Svelte, Angular, or vanilla JavaScript with a single function call.

Templates are stored as portable JSON and rendered to MJML, ensuring emails look correct in every client. The editor includes 14 block types, full theming via 27 OKLch design tokens, custom blocks with API-backed data sources, pluggable merge tags, display conditions, and dark mode support — features that are typically locked behind paid tiers in commercial alternatives.

The core packages are licensed under FSL-1.1-MIT, which converts to MIT after two years per release, allowing commercial use without cost. An optional Cloud tier is in development for AI rewrites, real-time collaboration, comments, snapshots, and hosted media libraries.
