Yes. AppFlowy AI is designed to work with local models like Mistral 7B and Llama 3 running on your device, so prompts and content never leave your machine. You can also point it at hosted models — the site lists GPT-5, Gemini 2.5, and Claude 3.7 — and switch between them per workspace. The AI features live in their own AI workspace, so you can keep using AppFlowy fully offline without them.

AppFlowy ships native iOS (App Store) and Android (Play Store, ARMv7 not supported) apps alongside the macOS, Windows, and Linux desktops, and the workspace can be used 100% offline with sync kicking in only when you choose. Because storage is local, you can read, edit, and reorganize pages on a plane and reconcile later. The same account follows you across devices via AppFlowy Cloud (hosted or self-hosted).

The project publishes a step-by-step self-hosting guide for deploying AppFlowy Cloud — the sync/collaboration server — on your own infrastructure. Because the code is AGPL-3.0, you can run it for internal use, but any modifications you distribute must also be published under AGPL. The mobile and desktop clients are open source too, so you can build from source instead of relying on the official app stores.
