FerrumPix

FerrumPix runs on Linux (AppImage, Flatpak, DEB, RPM, portable ZIP for x86_64 and ARM64), Windows (setup installer and portable ZIP for x86_64 and ARM64), and macOS (unsigned app bundles for Intel and Apple Silicon). The macOS builds are experimental and may require bypassing Gatekeeper.

FerrumPix opens JPEG, PNG, WEBP, BMP, GIF, RAW, HEIC/HEIF/AVIF, TIFF (read-only), and Photoshop PSD/PSB files with their layers intact. You can save edits as JPEG, PNG, WEBP, TIFF, PDF, Photoshop files with the layer stack preserved, or as an FPX project file that keeps adjustments and layers editable.

Yes. FerrumPix connects to a self-hosted Immich server to browse photos and albums, upload and download files, sync ratings, favourites, and keywords, and edit Immich photos with results saved as new assets. It also connects to Nextcloud for browsing, uploading, editing, and writing metadata back to the server, with optional RAW sidecar support.

Yes. FerrumPix develops RAW files from the actual sensor data with automatic lens correction from measured data covering around 1,300 lenses. Edits are stored in a non-destructive sidecar next to the RAW file, and Lightroom sidecar files with develop settings are converted on import so photos edited elsewhere open as you left them.

With optional model files downloaded on demand, FerrumPix provides object selection by clicking, depth-based blur, object removal with background reconstruction, AI denoising, and upscaling with five models ranging from 2x to 4x. It also supports face detection and grouping for people search, and reverse geocoding for location search. All processing runs locally on your machine.
