mail-archiver

mail-archiver is a self-hostable web application for archiving, searching, and exporting email from multiple accounts. It connects to mailboxes over IMAP, syncs folders and attachments, and stores everything in a searchable local index so you can keep a personal or organizational email history independent of any single provider.

The app ships as a Docker Compose stack and is built on C# (ASP.NET). It is designed for practical day-to-day use: a dashboard for browsing, full-text search across messages and attachments, mailbox-to-mailbox migration, and bulk export. It is licensed under GPL-3.0 and is a popular open alternative to commercial products like Mimecast, Google Vault, and Barracuda Message Archiver.
