TryPost
Open-source social media scheduling platform — a self-hosted alternative to Buffer, Hootsuite, and Later for agencies and creators.
TryPost is a self-hosted, open-source social media management platform built for teams, agencies, and creators who want full control over their content and data. It lets you draft once and publish everywhere — X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky, and Mastodon — from a single dashboard with a visual calendar and a multi-platform composer.
The 1.0 release adds a complete first-class API surface: a REST API with personal access tokens, an MCP server for connecting Claude, Cursor, and ChatGPT so you can schedule, publish, and pull metrics with natural language, and built-in AI for caption drafting, on-brand carousel generation, and inline review. Workspaces with role-based permissions, a brand profile that enforces tone and voice across every AI call, and per-account engagement analytics round out the platform.
Unlike commercial schedulers that charge $30–$200 per user per month and keep your content on their database, TryPost is AGPL-3.0 licensed, self-hostable, and has no artificial limits on posts, accounts, or workspaces. Install it on your own server and your drafts, posts, and metrics never leave your infrastructure.
