Open source alternative to:
Tandoor Recipes is a self-hosted Django recipe manager application that helps you manage your ever growing collection of digital recipes. Import recipes from thousands of websites, organize them into cookbooks, plan meals on a weekly calendar, and generate shopping lists - all without leaving the app or sending data anywhere.
Built by and for power users, Tandoor features powerful and customizable search with fulltext support and TrigramSimilarity. Create and search for tags, assign them in batch to all files matching certain filters, and quickly merge and rename ingredients, tags and units. The application supports fractions or decimals, recipe scaling, image compression, printing views, and supermarket organization.
Tandoor includes AI-powered features for image recognition, sorting recipe steps, and finding nutrition facts. It offers a basic permission system for sharing and collaborating on recipes with friends and family. The app is optimized for use on mobile devices, localized in many languages, and can sync files with Dropbox and Nextcloud.
Easy setup is available with Docker and included examples for Kubernetes, Unraid, and Synology. Tandoor can import your collection from many other recipe managers including Paprika, Mealie, Nextcloud Cookbook, Chowdown, and Pepperplate.
