Watcharr
Self-hostable watchlist tracker for movies, TV shows, anime, and video games with a clean modern UI.
Open source alternative to:
Watcharr is a self-hostable watchlist tracker for movies, TV shows, anime, and video games. Each user gets a personal profile to mark titles as planned, watching, completed, or dropped, add a rating, and keep a chronological history of everything they have consumed.
Metadata is pulled from TMDB for movies, TV, and anime out of the box, and with optional IGDB configuration video games can be tracked too. The app is built with Go on the backend and SvelteKit on the frontend, ships as a single Docker image, and uses SQLite for storage — making it trivial to deploy on a home server, NAS, or any Docker host. A community-built Kodi plugin can automatically mark items as watched from playback.
Unlike Trakt, Letterboxd, SIMKL, MyAnimeList, or Backloggd, Watcharr is fully self-hosted and open source under GPL-3.0, so your watch history and ratings stay entirely on your own infrastructure. It supports multiple users with authentication, a discover page, hover previews on posters, and a per-user profile with stats.
